Tempest: Blockchain Fintech

I partnered with an early-stage fintech startup to design the visual skin and core UX structure of a stable coin orchestration platform.

Challenge

Current providers are built for experts.
Crypto applications can be overwhelming with the amount of data presented, making it an intimidating option to explore as a payment method.

Blockchain enables complex methods.
The technology itself can protect buyers and sellers by enabling gated payment pathways, but finding the best pathway requires immense research.

Starting point

The team had a functional prototype, but the interface felt complex and unclear. Dense account details, wallet addresses, and unclear flows made a platform "for anyone" feel intimidating.

Visual brand & design system

The system was built to scale as the product expands. Given the timeline and the state of the product it was most efficient to hand off patterns and styles. These then could be used by the team to build out the full platform over time.

Solution

I evolved a basic working prototype into a polished, high-fidelity design system — reimagining core workflows like invoicing and transaction management to be more intuitive and accessible.

Smart Dashboard

Surfacing total balance and immediate onboarding actions without the clutter.

Programmed Invoicing

A guided workflow for complex down payments and final settlements.

A dedicated panel for pending approvals to ensure no payment is missed.
